Jose Martinez, candidate for Lake County Board District 1

A Voice for District 1

Jose S. Martinez is a Democratic candidate for Lake County Board, District 1, representing the communities of Antioch, Lindenhurst, Old Mill Creek, and Wadsworth. He is running to bring steady, grounded leadership to the County Board — the kind that comes from decades of public service and a deep connection to the community.

As a past appointed planning and zoning commissioner and currently an elected village trustee in Antioch, Jose has seen firsthand that real progress happens when government works alongside the community toward shared goals.

Through more than 25 years as a public servant and union official, Jose has learned that the strongest connections are built by people pulling together to get things done. That's the mindset he will bring to the Lake County Board.

Born and raised in eastern Lake County, Jose calls Antioch home, where he and his wife have raised their two teenage children. His dedication to serve is grounded in hard work, practical hands-on experience, and a deep connection to the people and communities that make Lake County special.

Rooted in Community

Jose was born and raised in eastern Lake County and calls Antioch home, where he and his wife have raised their two teenage children. This community is where they have built their lives, and where Jose's foundation of community service, pride, and civic involvement continues to grow.

Good government begins with listening to the people who live and work in our communities. That belief has guided Jose through every role he's held — from planning and zoning commissioner to village trustee to his work as a union official.

Jose is proud to thank outgoing District 1 board member Linda Pedersen for her years of dedicated service to our communities. He looks forward to building on that foundation to help move Lake County forward.
